Music is for Everyone!

Our #1 goal is to serve the music and the community, and our ultimate goal is to connect one to another.

Music has a special and unique place for everyone, and the beauty of it is that everyone will find something special and personal for themselves. What it may mean to one will be different to another. The same music can reach opposite emotions in two individuals listening to it.

At a TED talk, Benjamin Zander said:Everybody loves classical music. They just haven’t found out about it yet!”

Pillars of Teaching Philosophy

Nurturing Imagination

There is a strong connection between the music (sound) and an image (picture), as well as the background story (drama). When you are absorbed in a creative activity, you are able to experience those connections and create your own story in the process. Imagination breathes life into music-making. It is through our imagination that we infuse emotions, colors, and personal interpretations into the music we play.

Ease of music-making

Learning can be easy; everyone should feel good overcoming challenges and enjoying their progress. However, we cannot stress enough the importance of regular mindful practice, which is the key element to the development and joy of music making. I can help you plan your practicing schedule, show you all possible conceptual shortcuts to learn things faster and more efficiently, and ensure that playing the piano feels comfortable and effortless to you.

Communication

Clear and immediate communication is crucial to facilitate my teaching approach. The more I know about the student’s life, the more beneficial music lessons will be. If the student or parent has a question or concern, they should be brought up without hesitation. If the student feels confident and develops during the lesson, it will positively affect their other everyday activities.

My teaching philosophy focuses on fostering inspiration, ease, engagement, and enjoyment in every lesson. Learning music should be a joyful and empowering experience, encouraging students to explore new musical territories with confidence and curiosity.

I strive to provide many approaches that cater to different learning styles, ensuring that you find the method that resonates with you best. My goal is to ignite a passion for music within you and instill the belief that playing an instrument is an accessible and enjoyable endeavor.

I am committed to creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment. As you progress, it is my priority that you feel good about your development, fostering a sense of accomplishment and self-confidence. The holistic approach extends beyond technical proficiency, delving into the intricacies of music-making and providing historical context, allowing you to form a deeper connection with the music you play and understand the stories behind the pieces and composers.
